  • Verification of your information against various databases such as the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Labour, and commercial banks for the purpose of assessing your financial status and eligibility for the grant.

  • Verifying your information against commercial risk management institutions to prevent fraud.
  • Sharing your information with other government institutions such as the Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA) for auditing and planning purposes, and for verifying your income.
  • Sharing your information with other organizations working with SASSA on any SRD or Social Grant, including the Department of Social Development (DSD) and hiring institutions/listing in the job seekers database for the purpose of job opportunities.
  • Gathering data about the mobile device or computer used to apply or access your grant status for administrative purposes.

As an applicant for the SRD Grant, you have the right to request access to, correction, and/or deletion of your personal information. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator and withdraw your consent at any time.
